Well, I think they are doing the movie the way they have the books. In the order C. S. Lewis wrote them. There are 2 versions.
Cronilagically, in order of wear the books take plae in all, {The magicians Nefew, The lion, the wich, & the wardrobe, etc...}
& then there is the order of when he wrote the books! Hope that explaines some things!!

Well it would make sense that the first movie should have been The Magician's Nephew, since that book is about how Narnia was created ^^ (got the book set for Christmas). Just finished the first 3 and about to start Prince Caspian. I guess I can understand why they aren't doing The Horse and His Boy. *shrugs*
I think that part of the reason for doing Prince Caspian next is so that they can use the same four children/actors and not have them age too much (in real life) in the time it takes to make a film.
I am happy they are making the next film, though. I thought the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was beautifully done.
We saw it twice as a family, and the children really grew on me. Espicially the little girl that played Lucy. There were moments when she just lit up that screen.

In Prince Caspian, the children are just a bit, perhaps a year, older than when TLTWatW left off. I remember the children were going back to school, and sitting on a bench when they were pulled into Narnia again.
In The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Edmund and Lucy go back with their cousin Eustace. So my impression was the Edmundand Lucy were still rather young..Early teens to preteens?
In the Horse and His boy, the Children were young adults. I think I remember Susan being of marriagable age, so I always got the impression that she was older, and that Lucy was a young adult, certainly at least an older teenager.
It's been many years since I read the books, though, I could be wrong.
